Early Childhood
Children aged 3 years, 4 years and Kindergarten comprise our Early Childhood program. Younger students learn from older classmates, while older students are academically challenged and gain leadership skills. Students learn actively in indoor and outdoor spaces designed to provide freedom of movement and the ability to choose their activities. Guides observe each child’s readiness and mastery of lessons to guide them onward. The children learn at their own pace through self-correcting materials, observation, discovery and interaction. Group experiences are part of each day, building community while encouraging independence and social skills. Early Childhood students develop a love of their school community and of learning.
Please note that students are expected to be fully and completely toilet trained. This means no pull-ups will be allowed. Children must be able to recognize the urge to go and be independent with clothing and wiping themselves in the bathroom in order to attend.
“The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.”
Dr. Maria Montessori
